Swim Coaches and Instructors
Title: Swim Instructor
Edee Hansen

Edee has been teaching swimming so long that she has actually taught many children of her former students… and a few grandchildren!  A Florida transplant, she learned to swim on Clearwater Beach.

She has been with our instructional staff since 1992, with an emphasis on babies, toddlers and preschoolers.  She also loves working with special needs swimmers and adults and has been teaching water exercise classes for The Colony Aquatic Park for two decades.

She finds it exciting and rewarding to see a child swim on his own for the very first time.  She never accepts “I can’t”, but rather, encourages “I’ll try” from her students.  Her main motto (right after SAFETY) is “If you can float, you can swim!”

In her “other” life, she (and her husband of 35 years and counting) own and manage Breezeway Veterinary Service. She is an avid gardener and holds her faith strongly.  She is also a County and National Election Judge and Chairman for the CDC Board for the Town of Little Elm. Her household is very “Dr. Doolittle” with 4 dogs, 1 cats, 1 llama, 2 alpacas, 3 goats, 1 longhorn and newborn, 3 horses, 1 love bird, 1 Conjour, 1 beta fish, a hen house and a herd of Brangus cattle, as well as a herd of Buffalo. She is also a beekeeper, with hives here and at the ranch.  She has a cabin and ranch on Lake Cypress Springs, where she can continue her love of “all things water” (swimming, boating, and jet skiing).
