  1. FOTCPL Annual Membership Meeting & Springtime at the Cemetery

    April 24, 2021, 10:00 AM

    Join us for TOTCPL's Annual Membership Meeting and stay to explore historical Bridges Cemetery! Membership meeting will begin at 10 am; following the meeting, members of The Colony Public Library's Local History Committee will be on hand to answer questions about the cemetery and discuss how the families resting there contributed to the city's rich history. This event is free and open to the public. The cemetery gates will be open from 10 am to noon. Copies of the committee's book, Bridges to the Future, will be available to purchase for $10. Donations are accepted. Bridges Cemetery is located at the northwest corner of Morning Star Dr. & Chesapeake Dr. in The Colony. Face coverings are strongly encouraged. In case of inclement weather, FOTCPL's Annual Membership Meeting will take place via GoToMeeting followed by a virtual cemetery tour; register at tcpl.ticketleap.com to receive a meeting invite link.

  1. Coach Cox's Kid Chase

    April 24, 2021, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Park Loop Trail

    The Colony Parks and Recreation Department and The Colony Roadrunners Club present the 20th annual Coach Cox's Kids Chase. Children ages 9 and under will compete in a half mile race, while children ages 10-12 run a one mile course. All participants will receive a ribbon, goody bag and T-shirt. No event-day registration. Register online at www.getmeregistered.com/coachcoxskidschase OR in-person at The Colony Recreation Center, 5151 N Colony Blvd. In an effort to spread out the races and keep the runners distanced, you will register for a specific start time. 1/2 mile races will run from 8am - 10am and 1-mile races will run from 10am - 12pm. Each time slot has a maximum of 25 kids and will be split into groups of 5 at the start line. Time slots spaced out every 10 - 15 minutes, depending on race distance.
