'American Heroes' festival and fireworks event Nov. 8-9

"American Heroes: A Salute to Veterans" festival and fireworks event returns to The Colony Five Star Complex on Nov. 8-9! Musical performances include Cory Morrow and Jack Ingram on Friday, Nov. 8, and Sundance Head, Shenandoah, and John Michael Montgomery on Saturday, Nov. 9. Utility discount for military veterans now available

As part of its continued commitment honoring the service and sacrifices of veterans in our community, The Colony City Council last month approved an amendment to the city’s Master Fee Schedule that offers military veterans a 10% discount on their utility bills. The discount is only available through active enrollment and will be applied to the following month’s utility usage from your enrollment date. #ICYMI: Tool-lending program featured on CBS11

The Colony Cares Tool-Lending Program, which offers residents the opportunity to check-out a variety of landscaping and home-improvement tools for FREE, was recently featured in a news segment on CBS11. The program falls under the umbrella of the Community Image Department and is designed to assist residents with upkeep of their property. History Committee hosts Twilight at Bridges Cemetery

The Colony Public Library's Local History Committee will host a twilight event at Bridges Cemetery from 5 p.m. to sunset Saturday, Oct. 26, weather permitting. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore Bridges Cemetery at sunset! Members of the History Committee will be on hand to talk about the cemetery’s history and discuss its preservation and restoration plans, as well as answer questions about the history of The Colony overall. This event is free to the public and will include light refreshments. Copies of the committee’s book, Bridges to the Future, will be available for sale for $10.
