Drought Contingency Plan remains in effect

Residents and businesses are encouraged to continue taking steps to conserve water as part of the city's ongoing Drought Contingency Plan (PDF). The Plan recommends that customers follow a twice-weekly watering schedule determined by your address:

Addresses ending in even numbers may water on Sundays & Thursdays;
Addresses ending in odd numbers may water on Saturdays & Wednesdays;
No watering on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Fridays; and avoid watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on any day.

These recommendations are currently voluntary. We also encourage residents to review our guidelines regarding sprinkler use, swimming pools, and other watering tips. For more information, contact Customer Services at 972-624-3100.

TCPL hosts Putt-Putt event on Sept. 23, 2023

TCPL hosts annual Putt-Putt event

Golfers of all ages, get ready to play through nine book-themed holes of mini-golf at The Colony Public Library's annual Putt-Putt event! Registration is required for this program, and begins at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11. Register for tee times online at tcpl.ticketleap.com or call 972-625-1900, Ext 3, for more information.

Veterans Day event set for Nov. 10-11

It's that time! The City of The Colony is excited to announce the full lineup for The Colony's annual American Heroes 2023 event. Performing on Friday, Nov. 10, will be Vertical Horizon and special guest, The Unlikely Candidates. Saturday, Nov. 11, will feature Chris Cagle and special guests Austin Snell and Chad Cooke Band. Tickets are not required for any of these concerts, but VIP seating tickets will be available for purchase at SaluteAmericanHeroes.com.

Fall Clean-Up set for Oct. 21

The City of The Colony and Republic Waste Services will be hosting the annual City-Wide Fall Clean-Up from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 21, in the parking lot of Hawaiian Waters. Residents of The Colony may bring trash and refuse, such as large tree limbs, furniture, appliances, lumber, remodeling debris, fencing materials and scrap metal for convenient disposal. PopStroke breaks ground

City officials were excited to see construction of Tiger Wood's PopStroke get underway in Grandscape with the official groundbreaking in mid August. "This is another innovative addition at Grandscape that blends mini golf and family entertainment with cutting-edge technology and dining," according to The Colony EDC. The Colony Community Center will be hosting its annual Health & Info Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 22, at the Center, 5151 North Colony Blvd. You’ve got questions? They have answers. This will be a great opportunity to meet representatives in the healthcare, insurance and housing industry, plus a number of non-profit businesses. There will also be a good cross section of

During its next regular meeting Sept. 19, The Colony City Council will continue deliberations and vote on the proposed 2023-24 FY city budget. The Council is currently considering a half-cent reduction to the property tax rate, going down from $0.6450 to $0.6400 per $100 valuation. This would be the 23rd straight year the city has either reduced or maintained the tax rate. Budget highlights include a continued emphasis on improvements to the city's streets, alleys, and sidewalks. Residents may also watch meeting replays online.
