City Secretary accepts award

City Secretary's Office earns Achievement of Excellence Award

The Colony City Secretary's Office has earned the Achievement of Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal Clerks Association (TMCA). Fleet Maintenance tech at trade conference

Setting the standard

One of the most important behind-the-scenes jobs in the city is the work our Fleet Maintenance team performs to keep city vehicles running smooth. Upkeep and repairs to Public Safety vehicles, however, requires specialized training. Not just anyone can work on PD squad cars or ambulances. The Colony's emergency vehicle technician is Brandon Poe. Poe is at the forefront of the industry, and is currently a board member of the Texas Association of Emergency Vehicle Technicians (TAEVT). He had a recent opportunity to represent both the city and TAEVT while sharing his expertise at the quarterly meeting of the Fleet Pros organization. Kudos to Brandon for giving The Colony a strong presence in this growing professional field!

TCPL donation drive for Shepherd's House

Donations sought for Shepherd's House

In recognition of May 16 being "Do Something Nice for Your Neighbor Day," The Colony Public Library is paying it forward! Last month, TCPL was the lucky recipient of an act of kindness in memory of Jagger Dean Teel. Now through May 31, TCPL will be collecting items for Shepherd's House, a transitional housing facility managed by Next Steps-The Colony. Residents may drop off diapers (size 3 and 6), baby wipes (hypoallergenic, please), feminine hygiene products, and/or Uber/Lyft gift cards at TCPL and we’ll deliver the goodies to our friends! Thank you in advance! Click the photo for more info about Next Steps-The Colony.

Mosquito

Fight the Bite

Do your part to help control the mosquito population in our community by eliminating any water on your property that stands for longer than 5 days or treat water with larvicide according to the label. Mosquito season runs from May 1 to Oct. 31. During this time, the City conducts a weekly mosquito trapping-and-testing program throughout the community. Spraying is conducted when test results confirm the presence of West Nile mosquitoes. Click the photo to visit the Mosquito Control Page of our website.
