Christmas Lightshow underway!We hope everyone had a great time at this year's Holiday in the Park and Parade of Lights! The seasonal fun continues as The Colony Christmas Spectacular Lightshow is underway now through Jan. 1, 2023, at Perryman Park, 4930 South Colony Blvd. The show is choreographed to music and can be seen every evening from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tune your radio to 99.9FM to enjoy the music!  Join The Colony's first-responders for a day of fun and flag-football as Fire takes on Police at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at The Colony High School football field. Admission for the whole family is a donated toy (valued between $10-$50). All toys help serve children in our community. See you there!

 The Colony Police Department wants you to have a safe and happy holidays! Employ these tips to help avoid package theft. Sometimes theives cruise around, looking for unattended packages. Sometimes they follow delivery trucks to target more lucrative items. Once on a roll, they tend to come in waves and hit entire neighborhoods. #SeeSomethingSaySomething!

What else is In THE News?- During its regular meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 6, The Colony City Council approved a Construction Services Contract in the amount of $3.5M with Urban Infraconstruction for the Phase 12 Residential Street Reconstruction Project. Roads scheduled to be reconstructed include Alta Oaks Court, Ballard Trail, and Runyon Drive. The project also includes construction of a right-turn lane at West Lake Highlands Drive and Main Street. Phase 12 is scheduled to begin in January 2023, with completion estimated for January 2024.
- Also on Tuesday, the Council appointed Place 3 Council member Brian Wade as Mayor Pro Tem, and Place 5 Council member Perry Schrag as Deputy Mayor Pro Tem for the coming year. Council voted to cancel the Dec. 20, 2022, regular meeting.
- City offices, facilities, and the library will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26, for the Christmas holiday. The library will be closed Dec. 23-26. There will be no delays to trash/recycling collection.
- Extreme heat this past summer and ongoing dry conditions have necessitated continued implementation of Phase 1 of the City's Drought Contingency Plan (PDF). Residents are encouraged to follow a twice weekly watering schedule determined by your address. Visit www.TheColonyTx.gov/water (PDF) for more information.
