Splash Pad Grand Opening July 9

Aloha! The community is invited to join The Colony City Council and Community Development Corp. at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9, for the much-awaited grand opening celebration of the new splash park at Kids Colony Park, 5151 North Colony Blvd. Put on your festive luau attire and come have a splashing good time! Snacks and drinks will be provided. Overflow parking will be available next door at Griffin Middle School or at the adjacent baseball/softball practice complex. TCFD named EMS Provider of the Year

During last month's regular meeting of The Colony City Council, Fire Chief Scott Thompson shared news that the Fire Department had been named the EMS Provider of the Year by Texas Health Resources-Plano. City officials attribute the award to the success of the department's unique Paramedic-Only Program. Click the photo for more info about this prestigious award.

City celebrates Parks & Recreation

July is Parks and Recreation Month, which was recognized by Mayor Richard Boyer and The Colony City Council during its most recent regular meeting. The whole city is rising up for parks and recreation this summer. Stop by your favorite local park to help us celebrate and create a new park memory during #RiseUpJuly! Also, many thanks to all the Parks & Recreation Department staff and volunteers from across the city who worked hard this past weekend to host the city's Fourth of July celebrations.

PD boasts ARIDE-certified Officers

#DYK? The Colony Police Department currently has 18 Officers that have completed the Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) program. ARIDE goes beyond standard drunk-driving programs by further training Officers to recognize signs of drug- or alcohol-related impairment, with the goal of reducing the number of impaired-driving incidents and crashes. The program is provided through a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation. Moral of the story: Please drive sober and plan ahead if you intend to drink!

The world’s best female golfers will be coming to Texas in less than three months! Mingle with LPGA players, get behind-the-scenes access, and complimentary tournament tickets by volunteering at the 2022 Volunteers of America Classic, scheduled for Sept. 26 to Oct. 2 at the Golf Clubs at The Tribute. The outdoor lagoon pool at The Colony Aquatic Park is currently closed for maintenance and repairs. The City apologizes in advance for any inconvenience while reminding residents that all other areas of the facility are still operational and functioning under normal operating hours. Milestone Mondays is back! Travel back in time with The Colony Public Library's Local History Committee, which has compiled a fresh batch of TC facts that are shared weekly Monday evenings on the city's Facebook page.
The Colony Police Department recently received a report of a person going door to door soliciting funds for The Colony Animal Services. This person does not work for the city and is not donating to the shelter. Please call the non-emergency number at 972-625-1887 to report suspicious activity.
