Hours of operation set for tool-lending programThe city’s Community Image Department launched a tool-lending program in 2019 called, The Colony Cares, in which residents may checkout a variety of common home-improvement tools for use on their property – completely FREE of charge! Up to now, the program has been offered on an as-needed basis but starting this Thursday, April 7, a staffer will be available during set hours to assist residents in checking out and returning tools from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursdays in the parking lot adjacent to Fire Station No. 2 at 5571 North Colony Blvd. Signs have been placed in the lot informing residents where to park. What else is In THE News?- During the regular meeting on Tuesday, April 5, The Colony City Council approved a construction services contract in the amount of $4.2 million with Urban Infraconstruction for the Phase 11 Residential Street Reconstruction Project. The project includes Tucker Street (from Taylor to Tyler); Miller Drive (from south of Keller Circle to Slay Drive); and Bartlett Drive (from Clover Valley to Miller). Work includes reconstruction of the roadways along with new water and sewer lines, and new stormwater drains and street lights.
- Just like spring temperatures, things are heating up in The Colony! Check out the latest posting from The Colony Convention & Visitors Bureau for a breakdown of the many upcoming events taking place this month throughout the city.
- Grab your lawn chairs, family and friends, and join us under the stars on Friday, April 8 at Five Star, for our first Movies in the Park event of 2022! - Coffee with a Cop is back! The Colony Police officers will be at Turbo Coffee in Austin Ranch (5808 Windhaven Pkwy., Ste. 200) from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9. Come out and have some coffee with TCPD.
- City offices, facilities, and the library will be closed Friday, April 15, for the Good Friday holiday. The library will be closed April 15-18. There will be NO delays to trash/recycling collection due to the holiday.
