Eggstravaganza coming soon

One of the most EGGciting events in The Colony is back!. Watch your kids have a ball as they gather eggs filled with an assortment of candy and prizes during our annual Spring Eggstravaganza, set for 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at The Colony Five Star Complex (4100 Blair Oaks).

Peter Rabbit is hoppin’ into town, too – get your photo taken with him as a keepsake and create an Easter-themed craft. Don't forget to stop by the entertainment zone to ride the giant slide, play some giant lawn games and interact with the animals in the petting zoo. Tickets are only required for the egg hunt portion of the event. All other activities are free of charge. Click here to get your tickets today!

It's time to get running again! The annual Coach Cox's Kids Chase is set for Saturday, April 23, at Stewart Creek Park. Kids ages 5-9 will run a half-mile race and ages 10-12 will run a full mile. Register today by clicking the photo!

Spring Clean-Up set for April 16

Coming soon! The annual City-Wide Spring Clean-Up is set for 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 16, in the parking lot of Hawaiian Falls. Residents of The Colony may bring trash and refuse, such as large tree limbs, furniture, appliances, and more for convenient disposal. Click the photo for more information.

Excellence continues @ The Colony EDC

We are pleased to announce that The Colony Economic Development Corporation has received the Texas Economic Development Council’s award for Excellence in Economic Development for 2021. The award was presented during the association's Winter Conference held this month in Sugarland. This is the 14th consecutive year The Colony EDC has earned the award, which honors an outstanding commitment to excellence in training, professional memberships and activities and effectiveness in promoting our community. Only 57 cities in Texas received the award for 2021, and we are very proud to be in such good company!

Chief Bonds celebrates two decades

Please join us in congratulating Emergency Medical Services Chief Jason Bonds (center, at right) for recently celebrating 20 years of service in The Colony Fire Department. "Chief Bonds has taken our EMS administration ... to a point where our system, executed by our people, is becoming a model, suburban fire-based EMS," Chief Scott Thompson said. iNaturalist class March 31

Do you love exploring the outdoors? Are you curious about biodiversity in The Colony? Do you have a smartphone or digital camera? If you answered “yes” to these questions, join Keep The Colony Beautiful and local Texas Master Naturalist Donna Cole from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at City Hall (6800 Main St.) for a class on using the iNaturalist.org app. Click the photo for more info or to register!

City hosts LISD students for #CareerOut

We had such a great time hosting Lewisville ISD students for the #LISDCareerOut on March 4. Thank you to the students for spending the morning with us. We hope they enjoyed the experience as much as we did. Many thanks to Mayor Richard Boyer for making time to speak with the students. Students pictured learned about Human Resources, Library Services, Engineering, and Communications. Students also spent time at Animal Services, the Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Police Department, among others departments.

During its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 22, The Colony City Council approved a contract in the amount of $417,834 with Kraftsman LP for the hardscape and artificial turf seating area for Kids Colony Splash Park Phase II. Tuesday's meeting was rescheduled from March 15 due to spring break.
