City welcomes new Mayor, Councilmembers

Thanks to everyone from the community who came out for a night of pomp and circumstance at City Hall! During the regular city council meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 17, new Mayor Richard Boyer, Place 1 Councilmember Judy Ensweiler, and Place 2 Councilmember Robyn Holtz were sworn into office. We also bid farewell to outgoing Mayor Joe McCourry and Councilmember Kirk Mikulec. A reception was held prior to the meeting to celebrate the changing of the guard. Holiday in the Park kicks off Dec. 4

Signs of the season are upon us! The Colony Christmas Spectacular Lightshow is beginning to take shape at Central Fire Station. Join the Friends of The Colony Public Library to learn about Christmas traditions from around the world! This come-and-go, family friendly program will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, in the Library’s Multipurpose Room. Police, Seniors face-off in charity match

The Colony Seniors challenged The Colony Police Department to a charity chair volleyball game on Nov. 10 at the Recreation Center. Participants and spectators brought an unwrapped toy as their ticket to the game. Over 40 toys were donated to TCPD for their annual toy drive. The Seniors won the first game, but TCPD came back and won the second. All of the spectators and players had a rollicking good time! Check out the YouTube video to see the action. City offices, facilities, and the library will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25, and Friday, Nov. 26, for the Thanksgiving holiday. The library will be closed Nov. 25-29. There will be no trash/recycling collection on Thursday, Nov. 25. Thursday's service will move to Friday, Nov. 26, and Friday's service will move to Saturday, Nov. 27. No other changes that week.
