TCFD crews recognized for life-saving efforts
#Kudos! Dr. Thomas Madaelil and Jody Bauer, RN, from Texas Health's Stroke Center, were in town recently to recognize the crews of The Colony Fire Department Engine 12 & Medic 14 for their quick actions leading to the recognition, treatment, and ultimate survival of a recent stroke patient. Recognized were TCFD Capt. Mike Malone, Apparatus Operator Shane Dowell, Firefighter Chris Jones, and Paramedics Anthony Hernandez and Austin Bigby. The screen in the middle shows the "actual cerebral profusion return" of the patient, i.e. the improvement in the blood flow to the brain.
