Budget, tax rate votes set for Sept. 7During its regular meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 17, The Colony City Council conducted public hearings and further deliberated the 2021-22 FY city budget and property tax rate. Formal approval is scheduled for the meeting of Sept. 7. The Council is considering a 1/2-cent reduction to the tax rate, which would lower it to $0.65 cents per $100 valuation. If approved as considered, this would be the 21st straight year the Council has either reduced the tax rate or kept it flat. Residents are encouraged to view video of the budget presentation from Tuesday's meeting on the city's website. The 2021-22 Preliminary Budget is also available to review online.
