Spring Eggstravaganza

Eggstravaganza set for March 27

One of the most EGGciting events in The Colony is back - with a TWIST! This year's Spring Eggstravaganza is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at The Colony Five Star Complex, 4100 Blair Oaks Drive. Our traditional hunt has been modified to ensure all COVID-19 guidelines are safely met. Kids will lineup along colored flags spaced 6-feet apart and race to collect eggs filled with an assortment of candy. Each registered kid will receive a craft bag valued at $10. Each bag will include: spring crafts, prizes, coupons and a special surprise. Tickets cost $3 and are required for entry into the hunt area. Space is limited so get your tickets before they sell out! Groups of hunters will be limited to 25 kids and lineup begins no earlier than 10 minutes before each 20-minute hunt time. For more information about the event, visit our website or call Parks & Recreation at 972-625-1106.

Public Safety Dispatch

Dispatch renovation

Check out the new digs for the city's Public Safety Dispatch team. Gone are the two rooms divided by a concrete wall with a raised floor and leftover, decades-old cables. Now, dispatchers enjoy a bright, professional workspace befitting a truly professional team! These are some of the hardest working people in the city, serving the community 24/7/365. Many thanks for all you do, dispatchers!
TCFD Wall of Fame

TCFD tops Wall of Fame

The Colony Fire Department Engine Co. 12 and Medic Co. 12 were recognized recently by Texas Health-Plano for moving into the top spot on the hospital’s 2021 STEMI EMS Wall of Fame. The Wall shows the lowest response times for responding to and resolving a cardiac event, from first contact with the patient to the time when the hospital has restored adequate blood flow to the patient's heart. Earning recognition were Capt. James McAllister, Paramedics Katherine Babb and Nick Lowe, and Firefighter/Paramedics Chad Argenbright and Justin Marriott, with a time of 45 minutes.

Scotty's Lake Lane

New light online in The Tribute

Construction of a new traffic-signal on Lebanon Road at the intersection with Scotty's Lake Lane, near the new Little Elm ISD Strike Middle School, was recently completed. The signal primarily serves to facilitate safe vehicular and pedestrian traffic flow from Strike Middle School and The Colony Fire Station No. 5, which is a future capital project. #DriveSafe!

  • #ICYMI: In response to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announcing Executive Order GA-34, which ended the statewide mask-mandate and removed COVID-related closures and occupancy limits, members of the public will no longer be required to wear masks inside City of The Colony public facilities. This decision is based on the City's interpretation of the Governor's order, which precludes us from requiring the public to wear masks in public facilities. Also per GA-34, any entity in Texas may be open at 100% occupancy. Private businesses may still require masks and/or limit capacity at their own discretion.
