COVID-19 vaccine update
Eligible North Texans can sign-up for a waitlist to receive the COVID-19 vaccine via Denton County Public Health's (DCPH) vaccine interest portal. Patients in Phase 1A and/or Phase 1B of the vaccination rollout, as determined by the Texas Department of State Health Services, are currently eligible to register. This week, DCPH has partnered with cities and agencies throughout Denton County to administer more than 30,000 vaccines during three drive-thru clinics at Texas Motor Speedway. Those who sign-up will receive a confirmation text or email with appointment information when they are added to the waitlist. If you do not receive a confirmation text or email within 24 hours of submission into the waitlist, please call the DCPH COVID-19 hotline at 940-349-2585 so they may verify your information.

During Tuesday night's The Colony City Council meeting, Mayor Joe McCourry encouraged the community to continue being vigilant to slow the spread of coronavirus. "Our COVID watch continues. We are still monitoring the virus and watching closely the numbers of beds taken up in hospitals," he said, reminding those who may be on the DCPH vaccine waitlist to watch for emails notifying you when your turn has come. "I hope everyone else is continuing to do their part by wearing their masks when out in public or in crowds, washing their hands frequently, and keeping their six-foot distance as much they can. ... Everybody continue to do their part and we'll continue to keep the numbers for this virus at bay," McCourry said.
