Tree-trimming encouraged to discourage egrets

Egret nesting season is approaching! Residents of The Colony, especially those within or adjacent to neighborhoods where the birds have previously nested, are strongly advised to trim their trees in order to minimize potential nesting canopies.

The City will not trim trees on private property. Residents are responsible for their own trees, including ones between the curb and sidewalk. We encourage residents to coordinate with their neighbors to solicit discounted pricing for commercial services....

The LPGA returns to The Colony Sept. 28-Oct. 4

2019 VOA Classic Winner

The Volunteers of America Classic has announced event dates & an increased prize purse for the 2020 tournament. The only official LPGA Tournament event in the state of Texas, the VOA Classic will return to the Old American Golf Club Sept. 28-Oct. 4.

Featuring 120 of the world’s best female golfers in a four-day stroke-play event vying for a $1.4 million purse, this year’s purse marks a $100,000 increase as part of Volunteers of America’s title partnership.

Veterans utility discount goes into effect

As part of its continued commitment honoring the service and sacrifices of veterans in our community, The Colony City Council has approved an amendment to the city’s Master Fee Schedule that offers military veterans a 10% discount on their utility bills.
