Spring Clean-Up, food drive set for April 15

The City of The Colony and Republic Waste Services will be hosting the annual City-Wide Spring Clean-Up from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 15, in the parking lot of Hawaiian Waters (formerly Hawaiian Falls Water Park).

Residents of The Colony may bring trash and refuse, such as large tree limbs, furniture, appliances, lumber, remodeling debris, fencing materials and scrap metal for convenient disposal.

Roadwork Roundup: Closures on West Lake Highlands, Witt Drive

Road Work Ahead

Some current and upcoming roadwork projects include the addition of a right-turn lane on West Lake Highlands Drive, and the resurfacing of Witt Drive between Main Street and Knight Drive. All work is weather-permitting.

Witt Drive Resurfacing Project

Starting at noon, Wednesday, March 1, contractors for the city will begin work on the pavement reconstruction of a portion of Witt Drive, which will resurface the roadway with new asphalt.

Municipal Court closed March 28-29

Municipal Courtroom

The Colony Municipal Court office will be closed Tuesday, March 28, and Wednesday, March 29, for staff development. If you have a payment or documents due on those days, an extension will be granted to April 4.

While the office is closed, payments can be made online, by mail, or submitted in the drop box at the main entrance (personal checks not accepted). Documents can be submitted by email, by fax, by mail, or in the drop box. Please see the court office conta...

Austin Ranch customers: NTMWD schedules annual chlorine maintenance

The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) will temporarily change the disinfectant in its water treatment process March 6 to April 3, 2023. This only applies to residents in Austin Ranch, where water is purchased from the City of Plano.

TCPD named Accredited Agency by Texas Chiefs Association

For the third straight cycle, The Colony Police Department has received the award of "Accredited Law Enforcement Agency" from the Texas Police Chiefs Association Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (TPCA).

Planning Department submissions now exclusively online

As part of a recent software upgrade, the city's Planning Department is excited to announce it will now be able to accept and review all departmental submissions (such as plans and project applications) through a new paperless, online portal.
