ATM Skimmers


Regarding gas pump and ATM skimmers, the safest bet is to simply not use any card at the gas pump, period.

Instead, pay inside the gas station, ideally one with a chip reader at the terminal. If you're going to pay at the pump, however, at least consider using a credit card instead of a debit card. For ATMS, use those located inside secure areas.

Exchange Zone


Don't forget to use our Exchange Zone (located in the Police Department parking lot behind the jail building) if you are selling or purchasing items online. It is monitored on camera 24/7.

Tip: If you find an item online for sale and the price is too good to be true, most likely it is a scam. Never agree to wire or send money to purchase an online item unless you have verified the authenticity of the seller.

Practice the 9PM Routine


Leaving anything of value in your vehicle is not a good practice. Leaving your vehicle unlocked, even if nothing of value is inside, is also highly discouraged.
