[ARCHIVED] Hurricane Harvey response, resources

Hurricane Harvey wreaked havoc on the Gulf Coast the weekend of Aug. 25, leaving behind thousands of displaced Texans, mainly due to widespread flooding in the Houston area.

In the days that followed, The Colony Fire Department deployed a Division Chief, engine company, and brush truck to the region as part of a statewide response effort to rescue victims and provide much-needed emergency services support.
Many evacuees are now living in shelters across the state, including the D-FW area. Below is a list of some of the resources available for evacuees in need of various assistance, as well as some information about how others can help those affected:
