[ARCHIVED] Police respond to shooting on Dooley

At approximately 12:08 a.m. Sept. 4, The Colony Police Department received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 6000 block of Dooley Drive. The reporting party stated a male was shot in the leg and needed medical assistance.

Officers arriving on scene located the suspect vehicle, which left the area at a high rate of speed. Officers followed the vehicle south on Main Street where it crashed at the intersection of Main and the Sam Rayburn Tollway. Three occupants ran from the vehicle after the crash.

One suspect was detained immediately and two others were not located. Lewisville PD, Carrolton PD and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to help search the area. At about 2:30 a.m., Lewisville PD officers located two males fitting the description of the suspects at Fast Fuel Gas station, located at the corner of Standridge Drive and the Sam Rayburn Tollway, about one mile from the crash scene. The males were detained for further questioning. Upon further investigation, the suspect vehicle was found to be stolen.

The male who suffered the gunshot wound to the leg was taken by ambulance to the hospital and his condition in unknown at this time.

No additional information is currently available. The Colony Police Department Criminal Investigation Division is investigating this ongoing case.
