[ARCHIVED] Safety First: High lake levels force closures (05/31/19)

Shoreline Trail 201905

Heavy rains have resulted in high water levels on Lewisville Lake. In the interests of safety, the Shoreline Trail and the Stewart Creek Park courtesy dock and fishing pier are closed. The boat ramp, however, has reopened.

The park itself will be closing at 8 p.m. nightly. NO swimming, NO wading, and NO tent camping is allowed. Please use caution along the shoreline due to underwater hazards. Guests who do not abide by these rules will be asked to leave the park. No refunds will be issued.

We anticipate that many of these restrictions will be lifted soon as water levels begin to go down. Once the lake levels recede and some repairs can be made, we will reopen the trail. We appreciate everyone's understanding and cooperation!
