Reconstruction underway at Memorial/Blair Oaks

Road Work Ahead

The long-awaited reconstruction of the intersection at Blair Oaks and Memorial drives began in early July 2018. Memorial Drive is down to one lane each direction while Blair Oaks is fully closed to traffic both north- and southbound.

Detour signage directs motorists around the construction. Motorists should expect delays in that area and are strongly encouraged to seek alternate routes, especially for those heading to and from The Colony High School. Allow extra time and please drive safe!

In addition to much-needed reconstruction of the roadways and the addition of new turn lanes, this $1.8 million project includes drainage improvements, water and wastewater system adjustments, and signal/street light installation.Given the extensive work required, construction during the school year was unavoidable.

More information is available from the Engineering Department. The project is estimated to be completed by August 2019.
