The long-awaited reconstruction of the intersection at Blair Oaks and Memorial drives began in early July 2018. As of Aug. 13, traffic patterns have changed to account for ongoing progress.
Memorial Drive is down to one lane in each direction. Northbound Blair Oaks is also down to one lane. Southbound Blair Oaks is closed to thru traffic at Memorial. Motorists will be detoured at Cougar Alley. This ongoing project involves resurfacing of Blair Oaks, widening the intersection to allow for left- and right-turn lanes on both roadways, and drainage improvements beneath Blair Oaks.
Motorists should expect delays in that area and seek alternate routes if possible. More information is available from the Engineering Department. The project is estimated to be completed by August 2019.
