Just in time for the VOA LPGA Texas Classic last month, The Colony Convention and Visitors Bureau partnered with Visit Widget to create a digital tool that provides visitors and residents a new way to research and plan their leisure time in The Colony.
Prominently displayed on every page of the Bureau’s website, www.VisitTheColonyTx.com, the Visit Widget currently appears as a golf ball in light of the recent tournament but it can be customized at any time. If you access the CVB site from a mobile device, a banner ad will prompt you to download the app, available for both iPhone and Android devices.
This amazing travel tool serves as an itinerary creator with a wealth of added functionality that allows users to personalize their experience year-round. Users can search for interests by category or geographical area. The Widget then saves this information and generates a personalized itinerary that can be accessed online and through the mobile app.
Among other features, visitors can use Visit Widget to find restaurants near their hotel, plot the best routes between multiple locations, create an itinerary that can be shared with friends and family, or simply use it to stay organized throughout their time in The Colony.
Since everything is done electronically there are no papers to print out and carry around. The itinerary and related content are all accessible anytime from anywhere.
“Many people utilize multiple devices when planning a trip. With Visit Widget, you can plan from all those devices at one time,” said Mariko Lanicek, Tourism Manager. “When you create a profile, your plans will immediately sync across all devices and can be saved and accessed on the go. This makes the tool convenient for anyone planning in advance, en route to The Colony and even residents.”
Once plans have been created they can be shared by email, text or social media, making it easier to organize group travel, too. Contact The Colony Convention & Visitors Bureau for more information.
