Some current roadwork projects include work underway on Squires Drive, as well as ongoing repairs to Main Street (FM 423) by the Texas Department of Transportation. All work is weather-permitting.
Squires Drive
Concrete reconstruction of Squires Drive with new paving, sidewalks, and 8-inch waterline, is underway. New street lights will be installed as needed. The project also includes work to extend an 8-inch waterline on nearby Vaden Street.
- Traffic on Squires will be one-way eastbound, with the open lane shifting as the project progresses.
This Capital Improvement Project has a construction cost of $2.3 million and began in July 2023 with an estimated completion in Spring 2024.
Main Street road repairs
Starting April 10, the Texas Department of Transportation, which owns and operates FM 423 (Main Street in The Colony), will be making repairs along Main Street between State Highway 121 and Lebanon Road. The project will include full-depth road repair in various locations of both the north- and southbound lanes. There will be various lane closures throughout the life of the project, weeknights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. This project is expected to be completed by fall of 2023. Please #DriveSafe in work zones!
