[ARCHIVED] Winter Weather Notice

Web-Icicle

The US National Weather Service-Fort Worth is monitoring the potential for hazardous winter weather conditions across North Texas Jan. 30 through Feb. 1. Residents are advised to monitor weather media closely and take precautions.

Keep up with the latest weather info from your local weather media or the National Weather Service-Fort Worth. If you must travel during icy conditions, use extreme caution!

Preparedness

We encourage residents to visit the Preparedness/Emergency Management section of our website for information on emergency kits and communication plans. Most importantly, take steps in advance to protect the "Four Ps" at your home or business:

  • Pipes
  • Pets
  • Plants
  • People

Please visit www.Ready.gov for additional weather preparedness information - and make sure to TURN OFF YOUR SPRINKLERS.

Power Outages

Should your power go out, report the outage to your utility provider, which would be either Oncor or CoServ:

To help conserve energy, our partners at CoServ suggest:

  • Setting your thermostat to 68 or lower, and,
  • Turning down your water heater temperature setting to warm (120 degrees F).
