coyote_spotlight

Did you know that January through March is coyote and bobcat mating season? This means we are likely to see increased activity from these animals.

The community is invited to a pair of upcoming seminars - 7 p.m. Feb. 15 and/or 10 a.m. Feb. 26 - hosted by The Colony Animal Services at The Colony Community Center, 5151 North Colony Blvd. The presentations will cover the basics of coyotes and bobcats in our area, and provide tips for how to coexist peacefully with them. We will also cover other small mammals such as opossums and raccoons, plus more. The class is for all residents of The Colony, whether you are a homeowner or apartment dweller.

  • The programs are FREE but registration is required by calling 972-624-2246.

This program will be presented by Donna Cole, a Dallas-area native and a certified Texas Master Naturalist with 20 years of learning and service. She has been a nature lover all her life. By day she is a product manager for a travel technology company, and in her spare time she loves camping, hiking, wildlife-watching and is an avid gardener with native plants.
