[ARCHIVED] High lake levels impacting amenities; volunteers sought for clean-up

Due to heavy rains in May, high water levels on Lewisville Lake warranted closures of a few features at Stewart Creek Park, namely the courtesy dock and swim beach. The fishing pier and Shoreline Trail have reopened.

Closed amenities will be reopened as soon as lake levels drop enough to make for safe usage. For more information, contact The Colony Parks & Recreation Department at 972-625-1106. Thank you for your patience!

UPDATE June 15: In the coming weeks, we anticipate that water levels on Lewisville Lake will begin to recede. As the water levels go down there will be a tremendous amount of cleanup needed at our lake parks and trails along the lake. Soon, we will be putting out a call for volunteers to help with the cleanup, in an attempt to get these areas usable as quickly as possible. Though it is too early to pinpoint any cleanup dates just yet, we are beginning to gather contact info for volunteers who would like to assist in the cleanup process.
