On March 2, 2021, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced Executive Order GA-34, which takes effect Wednesday, March 10. The newest order will end the statewide mask-mandate and remove COVID-related closures and occupancy limits.
Per GA-34, any entity in Texas may be open at 100% occupancy. Private businesses may still require masks and/or limit capacity at their own discretion.
- In response to the new order, members of the public will no longer be required to wear masks inside City of The Colony public facilities starting Wednesday, March 10. This decision is based on the City's interpretation of the Governor's order, GA-34, which precludes us from requiring the public to wear masks in public facilities.
We encourage residents to continue monitoring our website, www.TheColonyTx.gov/covid19, to keep apprised of the latest procedures and status of operations at city facilities. Thank you!
