Our Operations Bureau includes the Patrol Division, Traffic Division, and Cross Walk Guards.

Patrol Division
It is often said that patrol is the backbone of any police department, and for the most part, this is a true statement. Patrol officers are responsible for a variety of functions within the police department.

Traffic Division
The objectives of the traffic division are the following: education, enforcement, and investigation. The officers assigned to this unit have been utilized as teachers in local drivers education programs.

Designated Patrol Officers patrolling the Grandscape area on foot, bicycles and patrol cars.

Support Services Bureau
The Support Services Bureau includes Criminal Investigations, School Resource Offices, Property / Evidence Coordinators, Crime Victim Liaisons, Chaplain, Communication, Jail, and Animal Services.

Records Division
The Colony Police Department Records Division is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (except holidays). Four full-time employees staff this division.

Criminal Investigations
Criminal Investigations includes School Resource Officers, Property / Evidence Coordinator, Crime Victim Liaison, and Chaplains.

Jail Division

Professional Standards coordinates and manages numerous community outreach events that include National Night Out, Citizen's Police Academy, Teen Police Academy, Volunteers in Policing Programs, and Crime Prevention Programs

Bicycle Patrol
Bicycle patrols are an effective way to patrol our residential and business communities. Bike officers can travel faster and farther than officers on foot and they are able to patrol areas that patrol cars can't reach.

Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.)
This team is responsible for the safe execution of high risk search and arrest warrants, narcotics search warrants, and critical incident situations involving barricaded persons or hostages.

TCPD Drone Team
The Colony Police Department’s drone team is a group of highly trained and certified pilots that come from both The Colony Police and Fire departments.

Mobile Field Force (MFF)
The Colony Police Department has a trained and equipped Mobile Field Force (MFF).

Accident Investigation Team (AIT)
When a fatal or serious traffic accident occurs in the City of The Colony, The Colony Police Department turns to the Accident Investigation Team (AIT) to conduct the investigation.

TCPD Honor Guard
The Colony Police Honor Guard was established to represent The Colony Police Department, its officers, and families at police funerals, parades, and other ceremonial occasions.
