Fire Prevention - Fire Marshal's Office

The Colony Fire Prevention Office (Fire Marshal’s Office) is a Division of The Colony Fire Department that is responsible for issuing permits, conducting fire and life safety inspections for both new and existing construction, plans review for fire protection systems, fire safety education and awareness, and enforcing fire and life safety codes and ordinances to protect the lives and property of all those who live, work and visit the City of The Colony. 

The Fire Prevention Office is led by Division Chief and Fire Marshal Jeromy Lucas who is responsible for developing and enforcing the fire code.

International Fire Code Adoption

As of January 19, 2021 the City of The Colony adopted the 2018 International Fire Code. All permit request submitted after February 19, 2021 must adhere to the new fire code and local amendments.
