Keep The Colony Beautiful (KTCB) is an affiliate of Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB). For 50 years, KTB has been committed to making Texas communities better places to live, work and play. Keep The Colony Beautiful became an affiliate of KTB in 2009 in order to join statewide efforts along with other affiliate cities to promote clean and beautiful communities. Our shared mission and vision is to make Texas the cleanest, most beautiful state in the nation. The Colony, along with other affiliate cities, wants to inspire and empower its residents to keep Texas litter-free and to preserve our natural environment.

KTCB empowers residents to take initiative to beautify their hometown by partnering with public and private sector organizations and individuals who are similarly committed to our mission. Education is at the core of our work and we provide tools and resources to the general public to strengthen their capacity. The areas of focus for Keep The Colony Beautiful include greening, beautification, cleanup, water conservation, and recycling programs. 

Greening is key to beautifying our community and The Colony proudly has earned the Tree City USA designation for 11 years. Our hiking and biking trail systems wind through undisturbed nature. Trail materials and routes were carefully selected to diminish their impact on the surrounding natural environment and minimizing disturbance to the native vegetation, protecting large trees and wildlife habitat areas.
