National Night Out

National Night Out took place on August 2, 2011 from 7pm-9pm.  Neighbors throughout the city of The Colony were encouraged to participate in the nationwide 28th annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event.  National Night Out is supported by the National Association of Town Watch and in part by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs and the U.S. Department of Justice.  Read the press release

 

We had several block parties that registered and went outside to meet neighbors and talk with officers.

The Colony has been recognized

by the National Association of Town Watch

for their participation in NNO 2011. 

We ranked #6 in the State of Texas and #37 in the Nation.

National Night Out will help strengthen neighborhood spirit and reinforce police-community partnerships to make our community a safer place to live and play.  

 

 

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
